Knowing Chicago

The visit to Harold Washington Library was very interesting, because when we knew the Innovation Lab, I never thought possible the idea to print in three dimensions. It was surprising and unimaginable!

The most surprising has been the quantity of high buildings and architecture differents. Also, the multiculturalism. I have found with a lot of people walking for the streets. It's so beautiful.
Many young people begging money. People that could be working.

The food has meaned to taste new flavors like sweet and sour, different rations of food. For example, in the morning eat eggs, bacon, rice, meat, etc. It's very heavy for me, so my lest favourite meal is to eat heavily to the breakfast. And my favourite meal has been the chocolate desserts and coffe.
Always, is good something hot for these cold!

The weather is so different to Santiago de Chile.I never saw snowing this way. Now, is summer, and the temperature is above thirty degree.
The wind blows very strong! It's so cold, but it's very nice to look the snow so white decorating the Chicago's Street.

When it is cold, the people wears wrapped up, but here I have been problems to wear, because the buildings have heating, then I will be heated!

Never stop the Chicago's life, the people carries on.

In Chile there are more hours the sunlight, but in Chicago darks so early. I miss it.
The CTA trains goes all night for the street and is so noisy!

My first days in Chicago

 Hi Everybody!

My name is Natividad Silva Ortega, but my classms call me Christmas. I'm from Chile and I live in Downtown Santiago in front of Parque O'Higgins.

Actually, I am finishing  studying in AIEP Institute of BUS (University Qurter Santiago), my major is Massage  therapy and I have planned to begin my practice in march.

My family is composed of six people and two pets. My parents are Luis (48) and Vivian (43). My sisters Daniela (22) and Javiera (16) and my little brother Joaquin (12). I love them.

We are very close, always are taking care ourselves.

My hobbies are to spending time with my brothers filming funny videos and laughing its.
Also, I like to read about actors films, I enjoy when I'm watching a movie and discover them.

I've came to Chicago because I love English language and I have good grades in English subject, so I was a scholarship winner for to come. Always, I liked idea to know United States.

I would like to visit a lot of places and I spend my time walking the streets learning the Chicago culture, the people, how they live, eat and think.

I’d like to improve my listening, because is easy for me to read, write and the pronunciation, but I'm not good at speaking and listening.

Picasso’s sculpture represent for me the multiculturalism the people in this city. It’s fascinating how the Picasso sculpture contrasts with every building that it is around.

The visit to the Cultural Center shows me a little the history of part the culture. I liked the architecture and the ceilings and rooms were wonderful. Also, I've visited the bean, it's amazing, all the building it are reflect there.

My favorites pieces of art at the Art Institute were a sequence of four paintings of Giovanni Battista Tiepolo of Arminda and Rinaldo. She tries to distract him of his mission for liberating Jerusalem. Also, I loved a painting of Auguste Bernard d’Agesci (Lady reading the letters of Heloise and Abelard), It was so real.
